Overview

ImmuneOn is an app that helps people get a vaccine easily. Our ultimate goal is to help people live a healthy life by increasing their vaccination rates and improving their knowledge about getting the vaccination. Through this app, you can learn more about vaccines, side effects, and upcoming plans you need. It is customized to provide people with all the information that can increase accessibility.

01. Define

As age increases, the vaccination rate decreases significantly. Although there are many diseases that can be prevented by vaccines, people are more likely to miss this opportunity and be exposed to the disease. People often don't even know what kind of vaccine they should get, and it's often confusing whether they get it or not. As a child, it has been well suited to the protection of groups such as parents and schools, but it is increasingly difficult to obtain information about them on its own.

Problem Statement

Competitive Analysis

Missing Points

→ Medical information is not personalized, and it is hard to know mandatory vaccines based on patients’ conditions.
→ Terms and visual illustrations are not easy for people to understand in general.
→ Lack of information about side effects after getting the vaccine.

02. Discover

Challenge Prompt

User Interview

We interviewed 139 people through Google Forms to see if people were getting other vaccines besides Covid-19 and whether they were tracking their vaccine information well. Many people were well vaccinated, but on the other hand, there were many worries. We had a more in-depth interview with 4 people (negative/positive about the vaccine) through Zoom about the vaccine they had.

Interview Goal

→ To see if people are getting vaccinated by checking up regularly.
→ To know how people keep records and how much they care/track about them.
→ How people perceive vaccines and voluntarily care about vaccine information.

Didn’t get vaccinated within 5 years (22 responses)

Interview Highlights

Key Findings

→ Major concerns about getting vaccinated are side effects.
→ Many of those who haven't been vaccinated in 5 years is because of a lack of information.
→ People do have vaccine records but the majority of people are not sure where they kept them.

Onboarding

Main Page

Just begin to get the most personalized information.

To get personalized service, users must enter
information through onboarding after installing the app.

Manage your records and
upcoming schedule all at once.

Users can organize and see all vaccine records in one place. It shows details about the previous vaccination records and the upcoming date, so there is no need to memorize them separately.

Vaccine Record

Complete your health chart
with vaccination.

On the main page, users can see the status of their vaccination and completion rate. Not only notifies upcoming reservations but also recommends helping users complete the vaccination as much as possible.

Reservation

Just decide to get vaccinated.
We’ll do the rest.

Reservations can make it easier to encourage people to get vaccinated. If users choose the vaccine and specify the location, they can quickly find places where they can get vaccinated. The side effects of the vaccine are notified to the patients in advance and the users can complete the vaccination reservation after checking
a simple pre-health questionnaire.

You're healthy when your
family is healthy.

In addition to oneself, users may have to pay attention to the vaccine schedule of their dependents or children. When users connect with family members, they can also check the family's vaccination status by getting informed of the status.

Vaccine Information

You don’t need to search.
We’ll tell you.

Don’t be afraid to get vaccinated.

The app gives basic information on what kind of vaccine users should get based on age and situation. It helps users who may lack information about vaccines in detail and informs them about the effects/side effects and helps them get vaccinated with confidence.

Family Connection

04. Reflection & Next Steps

Through in-depth interviews, I found the fundamental reason why people grow up and their vaccination rate decreases. All the platforms were different where they kept records, booked vaccines, and got information. Talking with different kinds of people and listening to problems directly were very helpful to avoid typical causes from the media. Also, not only interviewing potential users but also interviewing pharmacists and hospital doctors who provide information to patients were very helpful to find the cause of pain points.

Key Takeaway

Next Steps

The next step would be circulating the service with a larger group of stakeholders. Users could request vaccine or health-related information that can’t be covered within the service and be connected to get professional help. This would prevent giving up or getting wrong information.
